Valley Building Materials, founded in 1977, is one of the premier distributors of masonry products in the Southern California market. The business was started by Matt Kolendich to supply landscape contractors with railroad ties which were a popular product at the time for creating retaining walls and planters. The company rapidly evolved as customers demanded a variety of products for their projects. Matt was joined by his brother John soon after starting the enterprise, and the two began a search for high quality, unique products which continues today.

Our product offering consists of items ranging from the basic components such as block, sand, gravel, soils, cement, mortar and reinforcing steel to one of the largest collections of face brick, manufactured stone, natural stone and slate to be found anywhere.
