News / Specials COMPANY ACQUIRES VALLEY BUILDING MATERIALS (LAKE FOREST) Effective Date: June 10, 2010 The Board of Directors of West Coast Materials, Inc. is pleased to announce the acquisition of the assets of Valley Building Materials LLC (Lake Forest, CA) from Mr. Steve Harris. In addition, we have entered into new, long term lease arrangements with the property owners. Valley Building Materials ("Valley") has been doing business in south Orange County for over 30 years, and has earned an outstanding reputation among manufacturers, suppliers, architects, builders, contractors, homeowners and the local community. The combination of Valley and Resource Building Materials ("RBM") creates tremendous synergies which benefit both entities. Valley’s strong line of exclusive products, unique relationships, south Orange County location and outstanding people complement RBM’s team of 88 employees and 9 locations. While the California construction markets continue to struggle, the Board believes that the Valley synergies are substantial, and will add positively to our bottom line cash flow. This benefits both the current RBM employees and our new Valley team members. And, West Coast Sand & Gravel just picked up a new customer as well! Steve Harris will be the location manager at Lake Forest, reporting to Rick Santa Cruz. We have already begun the transition and integration process.
