Dimensional
Slate is available in a number of sizes. 12"x12" is
the most common size carried in our inventory. Other sizes available
include 16"x16", 18"x18" and 24"x24".
These products are typically produced by sawing large sheets
of raw material which has been hand split at the quarry. This
produces a product of varying thickness generally ranging from
3/8" to 3/4".
The installer compensates for this changing thickness by laying
the product in a mortar bed thick enough to compensate for the
variance. Where the thickness of the product needs to be uniform,
"gauged" product may be ordered. Use Dimensional Slate
to create geometric patterns as you would with any large scale
tile product and enjoy its spectacular coloration.
